6 trips later...Osaka still gets us 🏯 🇯🇵

Hi Reader,

Hello from Osaka!

Hard to believe this is our 6th time here, but somehow this city still keeps us on our toes.

The vibe is so different from Tokyo. Osaka is warmer, louder (in a good way), and always, always more delicious than we remember.

If Osaka is on your list, here's our 3-day Osaka itinerary based on our favorite finds, plus a few things we’d do differently next time.

We highly recommend grabbing the Osaka Amazing Pass: a 1-day or 2-day pass that covers 40+ attractions and unlimited metro rides. No-brainer if you’re hopping around the city.

Bonus: use code DANAYAO at checkout for up to 10% off (anything eligible on Klook)!

Where We Stayed: Candeo Osaka the Tower

We stayed at Candeo Hotels Osaka the Tower, and honestly, we’d go back tomorrow.

Insane corner views, nice breakfast buffet, a rooftop spa we’re still dreaming about, and a location that made getting around super easy.

Trip Highlight: Tattoo-Friendly Private Day Onsen

If you’ve got tattoos, you already know, most onsen won’t even let you in.

I’ve got 3 small ones, so finding a day onsen with private option was huge. Enter Solaniwa Onsen: a day-use spot with 90-minute private add-on. You get the whole room to yourself. Loved it.

Other Cool Finds From This Trip

Best takoyaki (octopus balls): Aizuya. Skip the sauce, it’s that good.

Dotonbori giant ferris wheel: Fast, fun, and shaped like an oval.

Most underrated area: Osaka Bay area. Aquarium, sunset cruise, and ocean breeze? We’re in.

Coming up next: our half-day adventure to Minoh Falls + Katsuoji Temple near Osaka. Calm, hidden gem, and very worth it.

Talk soon,

Dana & Robert

Odaiba Sunset Stroll

Hi Reader, You’ve probably seen or even visited Tokyo’s classic attractions like Shibuya Crossing, Asakusa, Shinjuku, or even Harajuku. But after living and traveling here, our favorite area might surprise you. It is Odaiba, the manmade island in Tokyo Bay. Rain or shine, Odaiba is full of shopping, museums, parks, and attractions that work for family trips, date nights, or casual outings. And if you have ever watched a J-drama with twinkling city lights by the water, chances are it was...
